Port Land

History

bowl-overview

Port Land was planned and built in the summer of 2012 by about 50 highly motivated skateboarders. They put in about 5000 hours of pro bono work from July to October, to create a 400m2 concrete paradise. The cost of the materials and tools were financed by the Swisslos-Fonds of Basel, the GGG, Carhartt Work in Progress, various donations and a crowd funding campaign on wemakeit.ch. You can read up on the history of Port Land in the book by Éric Antoine.

Port Land is open to the public and free to use for anyone. Donations to Betonfreunde beider Basel for the upkeep of the park and the electricity bills are very welcome. Our bank details can be found on the contact page.
